There is alot of general knowledge regarding

Corks characteristics when it grows on trees. But the fact that it is breathable brings that benefit straight to the domestic home. Being breathable, when this product is applied inside or outside. It helps prevent damp and mould from occurring and also combats cold spots which again is a major cause of condensation which if untreated or prevented becomes damp, mould and can even release spores that can affect our well-being. In a 2020 case study, Corksol was proven to be effective against damp, mould & condensation that was affecting over 80% of the 1960’s concrete tower block.

Cork is a Natural Insulator

Cork is a Natural Insulator

Corks Thermal insulation properties make it a great option for Thermal improvement applications in or on the home. Using Corksol applied in the correct manner can improve thermal performance and minimise heat loss by 30%.

Cork is also a good acoustic insulator with upto 38db reduction of  sound pressure levels when applied correctly.

Cork is Weather Resistant

Cork is a Natural Insulator

We have known the benefits of using cork for hundreds of years. Just think of a well aged wine and the cork bottle top that creates its longevity and ensures the wine keeps its natural taste. This rule also applies to Corksol, with a huge list of applications it is a very versatile product. Naturally flexible and elastic in nature. The product demonstrates a strong resistance to cracking on impact or with movement to the substrate and with a 4-6mm application thickness it is a great alternative to sheet insulation products. Cork also is very weather resistance, it tends to shed water and will considerably reduce the amount of water penetrating the substrate when applied externally. Corks resistance to sea salts in the air make it the perfect application for coastal properties.

Corksol Applications

The versatility of Cork is amazing. SprayCork is used as a decorative top coat and / or as a technical inter-layer on interior and exterior surfaces of walls and pitched roofs. Typical uses include: Exterior makeovers, cracked render repairs, coastal exterior coating, internal mould and condensation control, external or internal wall insulation on traditional solid walled properties, thermal bridge eliminator, acoustic insulation, fire separation, industrial roof repair, asbestos encapsulation and conservatory roof upgrade.
The application of SprayCork increases both the technical function and environmental credentials of many wall types and construction systems. Available in a range of colours and with a 25 year manufacturers warranty Corksol is an excellent option to go for.

Natural & Sustainable

The major constituent is cork granules. Cork is the bark of the Mediterranean Cork Oak Tree. No trees are felled when the cork is harvested. The harvesting of the bark causes the tree to absorb CO2 at a faster rate as it regenerates. SprayCork contains enough cork to offset 4Kg of CO2 emissions per square metre applied. In total the worlds cork forests absorb 20 million tonnes of CO2 annually, provide great bio-diversity, resist desertification and provide some of the best paid and skilled agricultural work in Europe.
